Please see attached link below for an upcoming webinar to launch the 3Hs Initiative and continuous professional development course. The webinar is on 27th March 2-3pm UK time. The 3Hs initiative focuses on housing handling and habituation of laboratory rodents and methods which increase their positive affective experiences and reduce cumulative suffering. This initiative was established to support the refinement of research involving laboratory rodents. The framework not only considers methods which can reduce negative experiences but also methods which can enhance their positive affective experiences. As neuroscience researchers with specialist methods to objectively quantify animals' emotional experiences, we have been able to demonstrate the welfare benefits which can be achieved by implementing the 3Hs. To facilitate dissemination of our findings and provide a training resource, we have developed a website and CPD course. This webinar will provide an introduction to the 3Hs concept and framework and demonstration of the new online resources.
