Dear members of our Innovative Biomedical Research Network and friends from abroad,
You are invited to join us at TPI-Helpathon #5, organized by Amsterdam UMC, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the TPI-Helpathon team.
You will be participating in a unique and inspirational international collaborative event led by the questions of Diederik Kuster and Rick Meijer, both from the Amsterdam UMC/VUmc, Netherlands. The Helpathon starts 13th October at 13h00 and ends 24 hours later 14th October at 13h00. The setting is hybrid. You can join us online or real life at the VU campus in Amsterdam. If you want to join us on campus, please let us know asap, due to corona restrictions we have limited spaces available.
Your help is needed and highly appreciated!
Requests for help
Diederik Kuster is a scientist working on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is looking for help in developing a non-animal model for metabolic stress, linked to obesity, which in turn has an effect on the heart/muscle cell function.
"I hope to find new solutions together with the participants, which will enable me to even better research into heart muscle diseases" (Diederik Kuster)

What is a Helpathon?
A Helpathon is a semi informal 24 hours gathering centered around mostly two requests for help. A diverse group of people with different expertise and backgrounds will actively work together to find new answers to the central questions. During a Helpathon cross correlations and lucky finds will happen. New networks will be built, surprising outcomes will arise and above all it will be lots of fun! It will be a hybrid event so it is easy to join from different (international) locations! We work with an interactive platform where everyone can move freely to different rooms and work together in shared documents. In between there is enough time for informal chats. For an idea of the atmosphere watch this recap of Helpathon #4
